Good morning, this is your Tesla Daily Update for Tuesday, August eighteenth, twenty twenty-six.

Today's edition focuses on the latest verified developments published on Monday, August seventeenth, along with the most recent market close.

First, Tesla's planned robotaxi expansion in Las Vegas is starting on a very limited scale. Electrek reports that Nevada regulators granted Tesla a permit for driverless operations but capped the fleet at ten vehicles, far below the five thousand vehicles requested in the application. The approved service area is restricted to part of the Las Vegas Strip. Airport pickups are excluded, and vehicles are limited to forty-five miles per hour. The decision gives Tesla a path to test the service while keeping the initial deployment tightly controlled.

Second, a recent Full Self-Driving version fourteen point three point six incident is drawing fresh attention to supervision and edge-case safety. An Electrek account says the system attempted to take a highway exit after the vehicle had already passed it, prompting the driver to intervene at highway speed. This is one reported experience rather than a broad statistical assessment, but it illustrates why drivers must remain ready to take control and why transparent safety data will matter as Tesla expands autonomous services.

Third, Tesla has enabled vehicle-to-load capability for eligible Model Y Premium vehicles in the United States and Puerto Rico. With an eighty-dollar adapter, compatible vehicles can provide up to two point four kilowatts of power at one hundred twenty volts and twenty amps. The feature could be useful for tools, camping equipment, and limited backup power, although compatibility depends on the individual vehicle.

Separately, Yahoo Finance carried reports that Tesla may begin launching its steering-wheel-free Cybercab in Austin this month. Investors should treat the timing as reported rather than confirmed until Tesla provides a formal operational update.

Looking at the market, Tesla shares edged lower in the most recent trading session. The stock closed Monday at three hundred thirty-nine dollars and thirty cents, down two dollars and ninety-seven cents, or about zero point eight seven percent, from the prior close of three hundred forty-two dollars and twenty-seven cents. The modest decline suggests investors are balancing excitement around autonomy with regulatory limits, execution risk, and intense competition.
