Good morning. This is your Tesla Daily Update for Sunday, October fourth, twenty twenty-six.
Because United States markets are closed for the weekend, today's edition focuses on the latest verified developments from Friday and the most recent trading session.
First, Tesla reported third-quarter production of four hundred sixty-four thousand three hundred ninety-one vehicles and deliveries of four hundred eighty-six thousand five hundred thirty-two vehicles. Deliveries were about two point one percent below the record set a year earlier, but they still came in roughly twenty-five thousand vehicles above the published Wall Street consensus cited by Electrek. Tesla also deployed thirteen point seven gigawatt-hours of energy storage products. The gap between deliveries and production suggests Tesla reduced finished-vehicle inventory during the quarter, although the earnings report later this month will provide the fuller financial picture.
Second, Elon Musk offered an explanation for why Tesla's Robotaxi service is not yet operating through the night. According to Electrek, Musk pointed to the difficulty of detecting low-contrast animals, using grey kittens on grey pavement as an example. The comment puts attention back on Tesla's camera-only autonomy strategy. Low-light performance is not just a technical benchmark; it affects operating hours, fleet utilization, and the pace at which a commercial robotaxi network can expand. Tesla has not announced a firm date for unrestricted nighttime service, so this remains a development to watch rather than a completed milestone.
Third, Tesla has updated the Model Three in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Mexico. Electrek reports that every version now receives a larger sixteen-inch center display. The Performance version also gets a black headliner, an estimated range of three hundred sixteen miles, and a claimed output of five hundred twenty-eight horsepower. The Premium all-wheel-drive version is now listed with a zero-to-sixty time of three point eight seconds. Vehicle-to-load capability, however, is still not confirmed for the United States model.
In the market, Tesla shares rallied sharply in the most recent trading session. The stock closed Friday at three hundred seventy dollars and fifty-nine cents, up sixteen dollars and forty-eight cents, or about four point six-five percent, from Thursday's close.
The key themes are stronger-than-expected delivery volume, unresolved limits on nighttime autonomy, and continued product refinement. That is all for today's Tesla update. Thanks for listening, and stay tuned for the next edition.
