First, Elon Musk has again highlighted Tesla's strategic relationship with China. In an interview with Chinese state television, Musk praised President Xi Jinping and described Tesla's Shanghai factory as a gem. He also called the local team talented, hardworking, and trustworthy. The comments come ahead of another meeting between the leaders of China and the United States. For Tesla investors, the practical point is that Shanghai remains central to manufacturing, exports, and the company's ability to compete in the world's largest electric vehicle market.
Second, Tesla has been named the primary supplier for a major electric truck order in the United States. Electrek reports that a new shipper alliance called ZET SCALE plans to buy two thousand five hundred Tesla Semi trucks.
