Good morning, this is your Tesla Daily Update for Monday, August twenty-fourth, twenty twenty-six.
Because United States markets are closed for the weekend, this edition focuses on the latest verified developments from Friday and the most recent trading session.
Our lead story comes from China, where Tesla faces two major vehicle recalls. Regulators ordered a recall of nearly three million cars because the emergency door-release system may be difficult to locate and operate after a crash. The action is Tesla's largest recall in China and adds to wider scrutiny of electronic door handles and emergency exits. Several other automakers using similar designs have also faced regulatory action.
A separate Chinese recall covers more than two point seven million Tesla vehicles. That campaign is intended to strengthen driver monitoring when the assisted-driving system is active. The planned software change will rely on the cabin camera to track whether drivers are watching the road, rather than checking only for a hand on the steering wheel. Together, the two actions highlight how safety rules are evolving around both vehicle hardware and increasingly capable driver-assistance software.
In Tesla's energy business, Electrek reports that the company has discontinued its Solar Roof tile product. According to the report, third-party installers were told that Tesla will stop supplying the specialized roof tiles and will continue offering conventional solar panels. The move suggests that the integrated roofing product struggled to reach sustainable economics despite its distinctive design and years of promotion.
There is also a commercial-vehicle update. Tesla says it will bring the Semi electric truck to Europe and reveal regional specifications and launch details at the I A A Transportation show in Hannover, Germany, next month. A European launch would test the truck in a market with different road rules, freight patterns, and charging requirements.
Turning to the market, Tesla shares last closed at three hundred sixty-two dollars and eighty-six cents on Friday, August twenty-first. That was up seventeen dollars and seventy-three cents, or about five point one four percent, from Thursday's close of three hundred forty-five dollars and thirteen cents. The sharp gain was the latest completed close-to-close move, not a Monday trading result.
The key themes for the week ahead are regulatory execution in China, Tesla's product discipline in energy, and whether the Semi can translate its North American ambitions into a credible European rollout.
That's all for today's Tesla update. Stay informed, drive safely, and join us again for the next edition.
