Welcome to Tesla Daily Digest, your go-to podcast for all things Tesla. I’m Alex, and joining me as always is my co-host Sarah. It’s Wednesday, February 12th, 2026, and we’ve got some really exciting stories to cover today.

That’s right, Alex. Let’s jump right in because today’s headlines are packed. Starting with probably the biggest story this week: Tesla’s new Roadster is finally, finally getting closer to reality.

Yes! So here’s the deal. Tesla recently filed two new trademark applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. One reveals a brand new Roadster logo in a completely unique font we haven’t seen from Tesla before, and the other is an image showing what appears to be the car’s silhouette. Multiple sources are now pointing to an April unveil.

And remember, this car was first announced way back in 2017. Elon Musk originally promised a 2020 launch, then it got pushed to 2022, then 2023, then 2025. The long-suffering deposit holders who put down fifty thousand dollars each are still waiting. But this time, with actual trademark filings and a specific month on the calendar, it does feel different.

Musk has made some absolutely wild claims about this car. Originally he said 1.9 seconds zero to sixty. Then in 2024 he said it would do it in under one second. He even said it would fly at one point. Whether any of that pans out, an April reveal would be a huge moment for Tesla.

Alright, moving on to our second story, and this one is already affecting Tesla owners right now. As of February 15th, just three days from now, Tesla is officially ending one-time purchases of Full Self-Driving. Going forward, FSD will only be available as a monthly subscription at $99 per month in the U.S.

This is a massive shift in Tesla’s business model. Previously, you could pay a one-time fee of around $10,000 or more to own FSD outright. Musk confirmed this change on X, saying quote, “Tesla will stop selling FSD after Feb 14. FSD will only be available as a monthly subscription thereafter.” Existing owners who already paid the lump sum are expected to keep their access, but Tesla hasn’t formally detailed the long-term plan for legacy owners.

And from a business perspective, this makes total sense for Tesla. Recurring subscription revenue is much more predictable and valuable than one-time payments. As vehicle sales growth has slowed, software revenue is becoming a critical growth driver alongside robotics and AI.

Now let’s talk about Tesla’s international expansion. Big news out of Europe: Tesla is targeting this very month, February 2026, for its first Full Self-Driving approval in Europe, starting with the Netherlands.

The Dutch vehicle authority, the RDW, has confirmed that they are working with Tesla on this timeline. If approved, it would mark FSD’s first official entry into the European market. This has been a long time coming. European regulations are notoriously strict, so getting approval from the Netherlands would be a significant milestone and could pave the way for rollouts across the EU.

Meanwhile, in the broader EV landscape, we’re seeing some interesting competition. Ferrari just revealed the interior and interface design of its first-ever electric vehicle, called the Luce. The Italian supercar maker is entering the EV space with what promises to be a premium, performance-focused electric car. It’s a sign of how far the EV revolution has come that even Ferrari is going electric.

That’s a great point. And it really shows how Tesla pioneered this market. When the original Roadster launched in 2008, nobody thought EVs could be cool. Now Ferrari is building one.

Absolutely. And speaking of the competitive landscape, with the Roadster potentially coming in April and FSD expanding to Europe, Tesla is clearly not resting on its laurels. They’re pushing on both the hardware and software fronts simultaneously.

So to wrap up today’s episode: Tesla Roadster unveil potentially in April, FSD purchases ending February 15th with a shift to subscription only, FSD eyeing European approval starting with the Netherlands this month, and Ferrari entering the EV game with the Luce. It’s an exciting time in the world of electric vehicles and autonomous driving.
